Purple Martin Update

As many of you have probably noticed that we do have some of the Purple Martins back.  We don't know if they are just slow coming back this year, but there aren't as many so far.
We had 509 babies last year, so we should have plenty.  I have checked with the Purple Martin Association and they have only had 158 reports of scouts and 5 reports of the subadults, so maybe they are just late this year.
Of course the weather all over the U.S. has been out of whack, so maybe they just said "We'll wait for better weather."  We certainly hope that they will return in force over the next month or so.

Many of us are guilty of looking at others our own age and thinking, 'Surely, I don't look that old'. If you've ever done this, then you'll appreciate  the following:
.
I was sitting in the waiting room for my first  appointment with a new dentist.  I noticed his diploma, which bore his full  name. Suddenly, I remembered a tall, handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name had been in my high school class some 40-odd years ago. Could he be the  same guy that I had a secret crush on way back then?

Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This  balding, gray-haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been in  my class.

After he examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended Seabreeze Senior High  School.

'Yes, I did. I'm a Sandcrab!,' he gleamed with pride.
'When did you graduate?' I asked.
'In 1965,' he r eplied. 'Why do you ask?'
'You were in my class!' I exclaimed.

He looked at me closely ... and then that ugly, old, out-of-shape, wrinkled,  fat-assed, gray-haired, decrepit @#$%&* asked,
'What did you teach?'

Happy Anniversary to Peter and Barbara Moran who have successfully completed 58 years of Marriage on February 24.  Call and wish them HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
